Aw no! Well at least being back on the medicine he has stopped again. So it is working! AGY is supposed to be pretty difficult, he may just need to stay in the meds longer. Poor little guy! We’re all rooting for you Tweetie Pie! ❤️

So sorry to read all this, fingers crossed 🤞 from me. I always think it's such a positive sign when they tuck into their food. Still, it is horrid when they are poorly, so worrying.

clt80 it is an emotional roller coaster for me. He had a bad morning with some regurgitation but this afternoon he's so active and loud - no naps here!

He sounds like a human with celiacs - before we knew what it actually was. >.< Poor baby - and you hang in there too! At least he is otherwise active and happy.

I'm sorry to hear the Tweetie Pie had been vomiting again. Poor little guy. I hope the extra doses of medicine do the trick.

samwiseg Thanks for asking. He is not doing well. I haven't been on the forum much lately because it just upsets me so much to see Tweetie Pie sick and to write about it. He is getting his medicine once a day but he is still regurgitating, not much and overnight or early morning only. In the afternoon he's his old self, playing and chirping. He and Buddy call out to each other and watch each other. If I stand in front of Buddy so he can't see Tweetie Pie, he starts chastising me! Maybe someone can give me an opinion. Yesterday morning when I uncovered Tweetie Pie I noticed black bits above where he slept and behind on his blanket along with a couple of regurgitated seeds. At first I thought it was poop and wondered how he got it there. This morning I noticed it again. It couldn't be poop? He's always regurgitated the round whitish seeds. Could it be the little black niger seeds? They don't seem to be well formed like the other seeds so maybe they are just more digested? We see the vet Thurs afternoon.

Thanks for the update TPM. It must be hard for you to write about Tweetie Pie and also maybe to see other light-hearted forum posts when you are having such a tough time. I must admit I do worry when you haven't posted for a while and I suspect others do too but your priority is obviously Tweetie Pie, not keeping us informed! It seems a bit strange that his illness has such definite cycles during the day - I am ever hopeful that you will mention something in one of your posts or a member will spot something that just sheds a bit more light on the matter or offers some new advice.
Regarding the black spots, I have only ever noticed the hulled millet seeds from Willow so I'm not sure what the other seeds look like when they've been hulled. I've just tried hulling a niger seed (bit fiddly!)but it looks like a cream colour seed inside. Could you try hulling some of the seeds from his seed mix and maybe post a pic of the black spots?

I am sorry to hear he is not doing great. is it possible, the medicine is upsetting him? the fact that he is fine in afternoon's is also odd, you would think he would be unwell in general?
at least the vet is not long off now.. everything crossed.

Thank you willowsmum for asking the question because it made me take a really close look. With tweezers poking and a magnifying glass (old eyes here!) it does appear they are seeds. Here are some photos as best as I could capture. If you look at the upper right portion of the picture, that's where some were found. A couple attempts at close ups. His current seed mix. His overnight poop. Tweetie Pie says "Good Morning".

Though I don't have any advice to offer, I'll just say you are doing your best.. Tweetiepie is in my thoughts everyday.. and in my prayers too..
Physically, he looks okay in the photo, i guess..
I just hope the vet visit goes well and tweetiepie gets better.. loads of love and hugs to you both.. 🧡

There look to be some flax (linseed) in his mix as well. Could it be these, and could he be dropping them, rather than eating them or vomiting them back up? Flax seeds normally are smooth and glossy, though, and the ones in your mix are not. Niger seeds are the long, very thin black seeds. In your photo there are a couple up towards the right hand side at about 2 o’clock

Hezz his food dish is at the bottom of the cage so I think the only way to get those seeds up there is if vomited/regurgitated them. This is the first time I've seen any regurgitated seeds other than the round cream colored ones. Today he vomited a couple times during the day. He eats and then vomits a few seeds.
