Yes he is Okay, so he looks just like my Monty would have as a baby! But Monty would have raised his beak to his mum for food and he's been raising it at every other budgie (except his beloved Snowy) ever since!

WOW, lovely chicks. Freddie and Randy are doing great. Share a picture of Randy too. Looks like Freddie is split for ino. Your ino will be a girl.

I'll try and get a pic of Randy but she doesn't stay out of the nestbox for long at all. Yep, you're right. The lutino will be a hen and so will the opaline. Not sure about the younger 2s sexes yet. Hopefully 2 cocks to keep the male/female numbers a bit more equal in the aviary:)

This little blue guy took a leap from the nestbox entrance today Marianne! I had to reduce the amount of shavings in the box to make the hole a bit less accesible

Randy has started to come out of the nestbox more often now and flirt with Freddie. It won't be long until she wants to start laying again. Last time they had a round she was violent towards the chicks and had to be removed. Freddie had to finish the round off without her help. Unfortunately Freddie and Randys chicks being small pet types are not the sort to sit in chick hides on the floor. The last lot (one by one) by 31 one days were in and out of the nestbox, flapping around the cage like loonies and generally creating havoc and upsetting Randy alot. Poor Freddie was quite happy to be left to the job on his own as Randy ended up being rather appropriately named! And her motherly instincts ceased with each chich dead on 31 days. Not looking forward to it! And I hope I catch her in time! This hen is the sort that if I removed the nestbox she will make a nest on the floor under the paper. I had to give away all her last chicks last time except the one who was always sickly, as her hatred for her chicks continued for many further weeks after fledging and when reunited in the aviary she still wanted to kill them! Luckily this time round I will have a spare aviary for the chicks and a couple of nice steady males to go in until she has hopefully forgotten the awful chickies that stopped her breeding again!

The chicks are adorable, Nat. I hope Randy will behave herself. She should slow down a bit with the breeding. She will wear herself out. Love all the photos. Keep them coming.

Nice chicks. I love the LUTINO. It is always fun to have red eyed chicks in the clutch while their partents are non red eye.
