Chick 1 is the blue, chick 2 is the y/f albino, chick 3 is the opaline with his back to us and the normal green is chick 4 I'd say they should be properly self sufficient at 6 weeks old. The parents are still feeding all of them but all 4 will pick at millet spray now, and chick 1 is often in the soft food pot but I'm not sure if hes eating any yet. Lol, hes more than likely using it as a chair!

Hehe Hezz, more than likely;) Lots has happened since I was on the forum last. The day before I left for France, Randy attacked the oldest chick. Luckily she was caught in the act to he only had a couple of ruffled feathers, but it was enough to have to take her out. Since then Freddie has finished weaning the last 2 chicks. The 2 older ones were eating sufficiently well for themselves by that stage:) Randy is now in a flight cage with some older birds. She laid a couple of eggs on the floor but now her back end has settled and poops are back to normal size. Both Freddie and Randy look well. Randy needed to lose some weight and from having the chicks shes now at a perfect size:) Luckily 3 of the chicks have decided to be tame without any effort from me. The 2 boys Lagudin and Ribot and Frottola the y/f hen are tame, but Favola the opaline hen is having none of it LOL

Aren't they so lovely at this age Sweetpea:) I'm more in love with this bunch than any I ever had before as Freddie and Randy overcame so much to get there with them:) Even my OH fell in love with the y/f albino and asked if he could have her. He has never desired keeping birds before lol! I told him if he was to build an aviary in his spare room and also have at least one more then he could have her At which point he called me a nutter LOL!

They really are an incrediblely beautiful bunch, Nat. You must e so proud of how you and Freddie have managed to get this far. Not taking anything from Randy, but you and Freddie went through such a bad patch. And now look what you have to show for it! These four little guys are keepers......luckily you are a little far for me to do a night-time raid, lol. I want to steal them!!! ;D There is nothing sweeter than baby budgie faces.
