Hey Tariq it was such a nice surprise to see a redeye! Having bred the pair before and not had one:)
I just realised I wrote in my last post sounded like each chick was 'Dead' on 31 days! but just incase anyone was worried I meant she was dead on 31 days at chucking them out:)
I'll take some more pics over the weekend Budgiefriend:) Hopefully Randy will bahave a bit more maturely this time;)
Thanks Stace:) I'm quite pleased with him at the moment. I've thought once or twice hes not looked totaly tight in feather and got worried, but when I open the cage door hes out in a second and flying around:)

Oh Nat such beautiful chicks and such a lovely story! I forgot where to find their story and don't normally look into this part of the forum because I run out of time. They are truely all such gorgeous little things. Poor Freddie, will Randy allow him to have a break? That bird will be the death of him, lol.

That beautiful ino chick seem to be a YF2 Albino or I am making mistake?

Yes Tariq. I thought she was lutino at first but now shes really getting her colours shes looking very y/f albino:) I'm well chuffed:) I suppose as Freddies y/f has difused so massively into his body colour the chick must be having the same trait:) This pair had 2 y/f normals before that turned a very green colour after the first moult and to be honest I had thought Freddie to be a green bird until the pair threw 2 blue chicks and 2 y/faces!

Hey Hezz I hope they won't be the death of each other! I have switched off the UVB light now on the hope that it might lead them into thinking its winter and also am not heating the birdroom. Its indoors, but can get quite chilly at night so I'm hoping this will turn Randy off wanting to breed;) Heres some pics from today. Chick 1 and 2 can sort of fly now and they are only 4 weeks old! i303.phoi303.photobucket.com/albums/nn156/levisnat/P1040557.jpg[/IMG]tobucket.com/albums/nn156/levisnat/P1040559.jpg[/IMG]

Now I'm thinking of names. I usually take the initial letter from each parents name when naming chicks. So far blondie is called Frottola, opaline is called Frangy, green is called Ribot and blue is called Lagudin. We know the ino and the opaline are females and the other 2 at the moment look like males:) Names may be changed lol;)

Change already taken place! Frangy is now Favola:)

Favola is a beautiful name.

Favola is a fable/story in Italian:) Frottola is a fib in Italian:) Ribot was a legend of a racehorse, and Lagadin was less of a legend of a racehorse but a very nice character of a racehorse I knew once:)

Those babies are growing up so quickly! Poor babies with winter coming on. I do hope you are succcessful with you No-breeding program, Nat. I am sure Freddie needs to catch his breath! Is Randy still being a good mum?

Thanks Budgie friend and Hezz:) Hey, no worries about the winter for the chickies Hezz as they are indoors so the room will be heated to a reasonable temp:) Chick 1 left the nestbox today of his own accord. I'm glad to say and Randy let him re-enter the box (thats not something she did last time so hopefully she'll be ok with them this time:)

I can't believe that one of the babies has left the nest! They grow up so quickly! It seems that Randy's maternal instinct has improved this time around. Good for her!

I reckon this is what caused the problem the first time round.
Chick one is only 30 days old today, and yet he can fly, perch and is in and out of the nestbox like he owns it! The last chicks were the same. Too forward for their own good and leave the nestbox too early causing chaos and upset to Randy with their frequent departures and arrivals to the box! Other chicks I've had leave the box a few days later but stay out, whether they are on the floor or can flap around a bit. Chick 2 is showing signs of following her brother out. She can fly as well, as I found out today when I cleaned the box out:)
Randy is looking better than she has for ages:) She has lost alot of weight which is good as she was way to fat to start with. Shes now able to do loop the loop around the birdroom with Freddie which shes not managed for a long time:) I can't wait to see them all together in the new aviary:D

How old are budgie chicks before they are self-sufficient, Nat? And a refresh please. In your last photo, which are chick 1 and 2? I couldn't see that anyone stood out to me as being bigger or more fledged. Maybe the green one with his back to us is a little smaller?
