I agree. You need to get them to a vet. They can also put your mind at rest. I looked up what you said, but what symptoms of those does Biscuit have?

mona they are still vomiting, both of them. I am planning to get them to a better vet. ffiscool, Biscuits symptoms are vomiting, plucking of feathers, itching and preening a lot, depression(he was depressed until we got him Bluey), mucus like poo(used to be like that before I started giving ACV which made him a lot better) and lethargy.

It still might not be that. Even with humans, so many things when looked up, could apply to loads of illnesses. But you do need to get them seen.

Would you recommend using SCATT from Vetafarm to treat the scaly face mites?

I’ve not used it, but scaly face is what it is manufactured to treat.

Would you recommend using SCATT from Vetafarm to treat the scaly face mites? I have not used it either, but as Hezz said, that is what it is for. It would be better than the oil you were given previously - it should work if you give the proper dose which should be specified on the bottle. Looking at the symptoms you gave for Biscuit, I am wondering about a few things. First, budgies do regurgitate to one another and toys. Are you certain your birds are vomiting and not just practicing regurgitation? This can be easy to confuse - but vomiting would be an uncontrolled action often accompanied by a clear liquid and the budgies shaking its head in irritation when vomiting. Second, budgies are not known to be feather pluckers - it can occur but is rare. Are you certain he is plucking? He would end up with obvious bald patches - not just white fluffy feathers. When budgies preen they do loosen up some of their fluffy down feathers which will fall away and this is normal. Budgies also preen and scratch themselves a lot as part of normal grooming. And if Biscuit still has mites the scratching is more likely due to that than giardia. If it was giardia he would be vocalizing in pain a lot too, as well as scratching. I think it is more likely your buds just have mites and perhaps a yeast or bacterial infection - try not to get too worked up and diagnose it yourself with limited experience. I could be wrong too, and this is why a good avian vet, or even a good general vet who has a genuine interest in bird health, is absolutely necessary.

BTW, things have been going on quite well here, I have been giving my birdies some vegetables, Bluey likes cabbage and they both like Romanian lettuce a lot, but they keep dropping it off the sides of the cage! I have been collecting their feathers and I found quite a lot from Bluey this morning, mostly head feathers. vimeo.com/500348077/4d26ca3787

@birdlover123 - That is great that they are enjoying their veggies! Have you been able to get them onto an undyed pellet too, or gone back to a quality seed? If you have trouble finding quality undyed pellets, but you can get them to eat lots of leafy green veggies and orange meaty veggies, and maybe try soaking their seed mix every so often, they should have a decent diet that way and can eat less pellets perhaps. But if you can get Harrison’s that would be pretty ideal and easy to know they were getting the proper nutrition. Especially if they are sick, high potency should help their immune systems out a lot.

Morgan, I havebeen feeding them the zupreem fruitblend pellets as I don't want to waste them, after this I'm going to get them Harrisons high potency super fine or Roudybush. Roudybush is available to me at a much cheaper price than Harrisons though.
