Are females more intelligent than males in the birdie world?! It's a view from the room entrance. She says that she's the queen of the birdie mansion & that she wants more 🙈😅

mona that is just fabulous. I need to up my game 🤣. Your birdies certainly have not only 5* food but 5* accommodation as well! Thanks to all the ideas from this forum, instagram and pinterest. I keep scanning everyone's setup to steal ideas 🙈😅 It's stress buster activity for me!! I'm still setting up the birdie room (a few more swings and stuff on the curtain rod). Due to the hot weather, birdies are in our bedroom right now. I think we will be able to shift them next month to their room, so that we can at least talk post 7pm (sunset) in our room 🙈😅 We try to let them follow sunset to sunrise (mostly 7pm to 7am over here). Caring for birdies is no less than caring for babies! Once I'm back to work, I'll not have much time to set it up for them.. Nothing we do, seems enough for them.. Are we spoiling them?! 🙈

They’re so lucky! When are you expecting to return to work mona? I'm actually scared to return to work 🙈 I left my job last year, due to the hectic schedule. I have been working for 12 to 14 hours a day (on a min) for past 10 years..which left me with cervical & carpal tunnel. Literally, I had to stick to my laptop all day - no time for lunch or breaks.. 🤦♀️ I have no idea why I'm always involved in projects with shorter deadlines & a heap of work, getting exploited at the end.. I don't know how I end up managing multiple roles at work & they believe that I have a magic wand to complete everything they give to me! I've not started looking for a job again, out of that fear! I'm thinking about switching technologies or moving to managerial role to move away from challenging tech roles, even though I love what I do. For me, the most easily available roles are the tech ones..But, I don't want to grow old some day and feel that I didn't spend time with my loved ones! I have started prep for the certification courses for managerial roles.. I have taken up the role off paper earlier, but I have to still learn a lot.. Once I'm mentally prepared, I'll activate my job portal accounts for notifications and calls.. 🙈

Made some toys using DIY bought from a shop and bought some perches. Loved the bark perch. I doubt the plastic balls will be used by them.. I might replace it with bamboo balls later, if they are scared of it.. Found out a local bird accessory shop. The shop owner is a bird enthusiast. She also updates about any avian seminars and bird adoptions. I have asked her to keep me posted. It's lovely to have more than one source of birdie items! I bought a couple of DIY items from her and some perches.
I had to remove all chains, wires, ropes, bells etc. I have been adding a wooden bead to the headless screws for the screw on too to avoid accidental injury.. I hope the birdies like it. I'm awaiting my order from my toy vendor too.. will setup the curtain rod in their room and shift them too then.. Made this one too.. Had to invert it to avoid it as a potential nest. Still thinking whether to hang it vertically or keep it on cage top

Shifted breezie to medium sized cage.. arranged a lot of ladders and criss cross perches of various diameter. This setup seems to be working for at least Cookie. She can crawl to the platform perch on the other cage..and gather courage to crawl all over to the tree or cage top. That tunnel type thing has a ladder at the base, so I thought of placing it there.. I think I'm running out of cage top space.. The travel cage will be on the larger cage, to train them to go inside it and a water fountain / bathing bowl too. I have some origami creations in mind to add as hangings (though I know it will be destroyed, but it'll be fun to make). I think I'm super obsessed. I'm not going to buy anything more now for the rest of the year. I doubt my determination though! 🙈 cookie loves shredding the natural bark, so I get some thin ones - tie it all together and add it to a corner. She stays busy for the day there! That would be the only thing I'll get for them during my walks.. We bought these too along with the custom ladder perch for breezie.. And no matter what I do, every other day the bird room gets messy! This is just one corner!

mona, I love it It's fantastic that they have such an amazing variety of toys to explore and you put so much time and effort into giving them the best possible lives. They are very lucky birdies but I know that you also feel very lucky to have them in your lives - it's a win-win situation

You’re so clever mona. The new toys look fabulous. I don’t think you need to buy anything at all when you’re so creative. Regarding work, I agree - you were running yourself into the ground by the sounds of it. It sounds like you have excellent skills and lots of experience in technology, something I’m hopeless with. You should definitely wait until you feel absolutely ready to return and take good care of your mental and physical health and well-being first and foremost.

I never thought that I would have cages stacked in the birdie room. Also, never thought about taking in more than 2 birdies & ended up with 4!! It's adorable however watching 7 budgies in the room !! We have rearranged the cage items and birdie room completely this week. We ended up putting up darkening/sun blocking jute curtains and thin cotton green curtain to adjust as per the need. When it's hot, the morning sunlight is enough to cause a sun burn! We need to add a mosquito net to the door, to be able to keep it open for ventilation. There's thin pigeon net in the balcony to prevent budgie escape, just in case & to avoid pigeons 🙈 Still we intend to add one more layer on the door itself. The top one is a place for breezie and mishty. The bottom one is Yeli, Moomoo & Piku's castle... Cookie and Berry's cage: Cookie Berry's cage top is messed up - haven't yet rearranged. I'll have to move the travel cage somewhere else We did pack away two cages today to rest on the top shelf! The faux curtain rod seems unutilized to me.. I feel like hanging more perches there. I have a SS ring that I have preserved after breaking a pan lid for best out of waste. It could be a good hanging for birdies - a DIY for another time. Mom's birdies chew out all the paper liners everyday! We had to add a HDPE plastic base beneath cage liner. Hubby says that they won't be able to chew that plastic. However, I doubt it. These buds can chew anything! Breezie's cage has a plastic base covered with soft turkish towel and paper liners, just in case - to avoid any injury. Both of them don't chew on it, so far it works. I have been over cautious and over protective ever since Breezie got hurt.
