It may be that he has too much stimulus. From the pictures, it seems that he has something to look at or be watchful of from all sides. I think I read somewhere that a cage with a new bird should be put against a wall so he only has to be wary of three sides. I'm not sure how you'd do it but if you covered one side, would that calm him somewhat? He's such a little cutie!

I did try that yesterday but he didn’t like it. But what I can do is move it a bit so the wardrobe is behind him. I have him in the lounge with me once I’ve done work but where he could go is dimly lit. I’ll buy a little lamp for that corner I think as he’d have the wall there.

hope so.. once his poops go back to ok, then it is fine. he is a funny one, if I go over he then will talk to the mirror...if I don't he just sits there. we are only 3 feet apart, lol Safety in numbers, he's just rallying his mates

Sounds like he is settling, don't forget the normal budgies are just English budgies on speed I always cover mine on three sides for the first few days then gently start rolling back the cover a bit each day. He has quite a bit around him, could be freaking him out a bit.

Yes, I will do it again tomorrow. Regardless of if he doesn’t like it.

That's so funny to watch! He hits his mirror and it swings and hits him back. Then he gives it a look "what did you do that for?" I love it when budgies give their tail the quick shake. He's such a fun birdie to watch.

I have now attached it so it stays roughly in the same place.. after I took this, it moved half way across the cage and kept whacking him.

It’s the pic of him before I got him, thank you.
I’m making it hard for him as he sleeps in the other room and is in there when I’m working.
So I’m not letting him settle in as well as I should. We’re in the lounge now til his bedtime.
I hadnt thought that through about insecurities. . He seems ok though for now.
I’m hoping the only negative is it takes him a bit longer than if I’d left him in one place etc and covered him from as soon as we got home.

I had missed out this thread too 🤦♀️
So happy that you have a budgie company again.. Hoping and wishing that you don't get allergy issues again and can stay happily ever after with Max 🧡
Such a pretty birdie.. Welcome Max 🧡

I realised I’m now tiptoeing around. I did hear the cage bars a bit earlier but he hasn’t called out. I’ve no idea if he’s sleeping or not.
Plus I realised now he goes to bed by 8.30, I can’t lie in as late as I used to, lol

Why when you have perches, a swing, do you have to use a seed pot to stand in
