The ice in front of a fan definitely works, I used to do it for my dog if it got hot here. I used to use freezer blocks too , the kind we put in freezer bags of food. That is a good idea I could try that. Another thing I have thought of is putting them outside in a large cage.up on a balcony away from any predators and the cage will be secure. It would be much cooler for them outside especially at night. My house can get very hot in summer so I don't know if I want to take the risk keeping them indoors during that time. Summers are short in the UK so it wont be for long.

I would make certain that shade is always available in the outdoor aviary.

I've been reading for some time about people using Guardian Angel to support their budgies' health. I went to the website but they don't ship to the US. Finally (sigh) I found a shop in the US who will ship some to me and its on the way! It seems people use it during molt or when their budgies need a perk up. How about some details on how you use it - in water, over food - how often and how much. BTW, I did tell the customer service folks that I heard about it on this forum.
Thanks!

Contrary to a view I expressed on the forum earlier, I use GA, twice a week, sprinkled in the seed bowls. The powder is so fine that it seems to thinly coat the seeds which means my flock cannot avoid ingesting it. Prior to this revelation, I would dilute GA in water but the sprinkle method works for me ๐๐ I use the GA prophylatically rather than in response to some issue.

loz Thanks for your response. I know you meant 'proactively' not 'prophylatically' , isn't auto correct just great.

Google says it's correct "1 : guarding from or preventing the spread or occurrence of disease or infection prophylactic therapy. 2 : tending to prevent or ward off : preventive. Other Words from prophylactic. prophylactically \ -โti-โk(ษ-โ)lฤ \ adverb. prophylactic." Brainstorm, TPM ๐ And quite a serious one, even by my standards!

Marianne Marlow! I knew prophylactic was appropriate but it wasn't the word I was groping for at the time. It was my second choice. For some reason I had temporarily lost "proactive" from my vocabulary! It's my age, you know. Don't @ me! ๐

You're probably not much older than me and I also walk in to a room and then wonder why I am there. I have done this for more than 10 years! Marianne Marlow! In 6 months I'll be 47, but I feel about 100 and take 10 medications a day now.
I actually have to have all my medical info - appts and such in a spreadsheet so I can keep track of it all.
