Thank you for the great work Stace ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) So mine is "Stained Feathers above the Nostrils" (The white hen). And it sure is a longstanding thing as it returns after sometimes. I wonder what it is? God, an avain vet ahould have been handy. I must buy this book somehow. Are you sure this is not blood quill staining in your hen? Yes I am sure. What do you think? ![](http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd406/BudgiesBuddy/Sick/f9a93333.jpg)

And it sure is a longstanding thing as it returns after sometimes. I wonder what it is? God, an avain vet ahould have been handy. I must buy this book somehow. In Moogie's bird is was very obvious there was an issue. I just haven't seen enough birds like this to know. Are you sure this is not blood quill staining in your hen? Yes I am sure. What do you think? ![](http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd406/BudgiesBuddy/Sick/f9a93333.jpg) According to my vet, the feather staining would be indicative of a Vit A deficiency, particularly if it were affecting many members of a flock. This is not the case with you. Next, it could be a Staphlyoccocus infection - if the condition is chronic (ongoing). Or it could be another type of sinus infection. Determining which problem it is would require examination.

Mick could be right. If the bird seems okay, perhaps it is just as simple as this.
