THANK YOU Budgie god mother and for spotting it in the first place and every body else for the support.....He must have been feeling pretty ikky as yesturday (and today) he has been chirping, singing ALL day long right up until around 7pm where as before (since i have had him) he has been lively in the morning and a little early afternoon then from 4ish HE JUST settled down!? as i said i have never seen or heard him so happy and lively and has even started bobbing his head up and down to his (sTill awful) music.... The meds for today has been done although he moved his head and some dropped just below his eye, have i been worried about this? of course YES!! but he and his eye seem ok so i hope it is!!??

![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Yes well the vegie battle is just that,im still trying but it is very slow in progress.... Today was a slight night mare...I was getting ready to give his meds and he broke free and i had to have a curtain open to see what i was doing and yes he flew into the window ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) he didnt go hard, hard into it & he did get on to another perch straight away and i told him home time and put him back in his cage,he seems to have a small bruise on his cere just above his beak but he is still chirpy and lively so i hope it is just that a bruise...aaawww i just felt awful for him .....

He should bounce back (bad pun) okay. It is the really shake-the window hard hits that are the worry. Naughty Elfie ........ maybe he will be a good boy now and not run away from his medicine. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Maybe he is waiting for you to eat your greens too, before he gets started ..... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Ok i dont know if i am now being parinod but do you think the staining is returning or not fully gone from his cold as he wouldnt let me wipe it away? His poop is ok and he chatters away apart from this week,i have had to be out with quite a few dog grooming jobs so not sure if he is sulking about that or if there is an underlying problem!? since day one he has not been the most playful/active of birds although since he got over his cold he did come out of himself abit more so i dont know if in time he will continue to get more playful ect..He still does not fly around much although in saying that he adds an extra lap on a week at a time but then just wants to sit on his fav perch!!....He also has alot of quite time in his cage so im abit confused if that is just his way .... s1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd416/xcottontailx/photobucket is playing up so it is the first 6 pics id like you to look at... in different lights the staining looks less or more??? Also i was wondering if he may be lonely and if he had a friend he would be more playful ect ect ect

Is it me, or are there some pin feathers in there too, Moogie? Sometimes the pin feathers, being full of blood can cause that dirty look, but that is just pin feathers being pin feathers. I don't really know if there is anything for you to be concerned about, but if you feel he isn't as active as he could be, get a second opinion with the vet. He is the one who can really set your mind at rest. Maybe Elfie does still have residual cold symptoms. The difference in activity between Smudge (lazy lump) and Sparky (spitfire) it is hard to believe they are the same breed, but I think it is because Sparky spent the first 5-6 months of his life in an aviary, with a heap of friends, whereas Smudge came to me straight out of her nest pretty much, and just learning to fly. The same may be true with Elfie. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Best you pop those photos up into the thread, Moogie. It's easier for everyone to look at.
That said, there does look to be some staining still there.

Hi Just a couple of suggestions that may help. Have you tried really hard boiled egg, mashed with the shell. or the yolk mashed on it's own if they like it you can mix all kinds fine chopped fuit/veg in it or powder supplements. The sneezing, rinse the seed to remove any dust. drain till just damp & serve. Wash today, serve tomorrow. Yours B.J.

A finger-tame baby budgie would be great - that way the two birds would be able to feed off each others' experience and good feelings toward humans. It wouldn't hurt still, if this isn't an issue, to get Elfie checked again. I don't know what the weather is doing in London at the moment, but since Elfie has been a bit iffy health-wise, if you are in any doubt, it can't hurt to have him checked again. Especially if you aren't at home so much, peace of mind is worth so much! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Def am going to have him checked again BGM Hezz just to be sure...I am in all day today and so far he has been extremely vocal,i think the recent quietness is due to me not being around and he was lonely ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) At one point i will definitely have to get him a friend (maybe this summer) i know i will have to quarantine the new one for 40 days,i will have to keep newbie in the bedroom and keep elf in the lounge (only in a small flat) only prob is my other half REALLY snores so elf normally goes in the bedroom with me at night so will he be OK for 6-8 weeks with major snoring ha ha don't want him to have frights over the noise as even i do? Also i read some where to have 2 sets of clothes one in the lounge (with elf) and then one in the bedroom with new birdie so not to take any viruses in to each bird,i thought that sounded a bit extreme,is it?? I know most people fear they will lose the bond they have built up with first bird but i thought by getting a finger tame baby i could work hard with him and continue with Elf in the quarantine time (and after of course) and hope Elf stays bonded to me and the new one to follow Any thing else you can advise me on i would love to hear xxxxxxxx
