Is Squeak in mating condition - is her cere dark brown & crusty?

Squeak is indeed in breeding condition. The vet had commented on her cere.

Hmmmm, putting her in isolation with one of the boys, hmmmmm. That's been my thought since the vet suggested it.

I'm fairly sure that Ira would be willing to share the details of her recent experience with you.

Just because she may be in breeding condition doesn’t necessarily mean she wants to breed.
My Smudge had a brown cere almost her entire life but there was no way any of the boys were going to have any luck.

Whereas Gwen had invited all four of our boys to play last year, and they were the ones only interested in kissing.

I really am at my wits' end with Squeak.
About an hour ago I thought I was losing her. Fluffed up, tail-bob, uncharacteristic crop-management motions and then she appeared slumped-over on her perch. I felt like she was slipping away as I watched. I phoned the vet who promised to phone me back with an appointment or advice. Eeyore & Hector sat with her quietly, it felt like a vigil.
Waiting for the call-back, Squeak is suddenly up and about, flying from perch to perch, and food-bowl to food-bowl, even sharing the fireplace seed bowl with Chocobo. I'm doubting my sanity.
I've had a call-back now, an emergency appointment that I cannot get to in the time available but perhaps this is no longer an emergency? I've no idea. I've booked a normal appointment with the vet I saw last time for this coming Monday. I suspect we are going to be discussing tests next. I have no clue what is occurring.

It does sound like she's not well. Even the ill ones can have periods of activity which seems normal. What a worry

That's what I think too, Marianne.

What a worry! Hopefully she stays active and eating until you can get her to the vet. She perked up after Eeyore and Hector sat with her? Maybe she needs a budgie psychiatrist?

Hard to tell if she is eating or just pecking around dehusking and dropping the seed. What do her droppings look like?
