Yes me too. I'm really quite concerned about him if I'm honest. His poos are awful and he's still vomiting lots of seed. There's no sign of any improvement as yet.
Feeling rather downhearted. We've only just lost Finlay and I'm worried about how Barney would manage on his own. OH does not want to get more birds and I would worry Barney could be an AGY carrier anyway. It's just sad ☹️

Oh I'm so sorry, it is very hard.
I hope he perks up and lives a good few more years yet.

Toby has wised up to the whole medicine thing. It took him two days. He now waits by the cage door in the morning and flaps around the cage as I try to catch him. He then holds his beak tight shut. 🤦🏻♀️
Evenings are slightly easier. Can catch him on the dark. Ho Hum...

That sounds about right, blueelephant. Blackout curtains were one of my better investments. I can make it night time whenever I like!

I think he must have read my dear departed Bezukhov's blog post on how to avoid taking your medicine...! Link to blog postWhat can I say? Good luck!

Bezukhov spoke truly 🌟
My dear Patch added his own creation, The Turtleneck, to these methodologies. His head would almost disappear from view, rendering the beak unaccessible.

My favourite kwote "Sometimes, the human in question, will attempt to use a kloth of some sort to kontain you. This kan be a challenge. I find this next method quite effective, ‘Rotation‘. It’z a subset of wriggling really, but deserves its own mention. Wriggling in a rotating way means that when the human adjusts the kloth to find your head, it’z often facing away from the human, thereby making administering of medication impossible (unless the human is a kontortionist which my one izn’t). The human will then have to temporarily put the medicine launching device² down in order to use both hands to adjust the kloth to get you in the korrect position but this iz another opportunity to wriggle." As wonderful as Bezukhov was, he was terrible for taking his medicine. Even the vet said he had 'poor patient compliance'. I have great empathy for anyone having to medicate their non-cooperating birds.

sweetpea I am most definitely not showing this to Toby 😂. He's bad, but he's not learned all those tricks yet...
