This is great advice, Hezz. I've no intention of trimming Herman's beak, or claws for that matter, unless I feel they have become too long to be be safe or comfortable. I'm not looking forward to it, should it become necessary, that's for sure. My enquiry was preparation for that eVentuality, having noticed longer-than-normal growth in Herman. The overgrowth doesn't appwar to impact his quality-of-life as yet (I've been observing him closely) so the trimming is not yet necessary. I need to be prepared, should that change.

Agree Hezz. Custard had a very brittle beak. Charie also really needed his doing as I noticed he was having trouble picking up seeds. I had to do them every couple of weeks. I have only needed to do Billy's once so far and I never take much off at a time only 2mm, so it still leaves it slightly long. As you say, it can be dangerous.
