When its boarded could I use ordinary emulsion to paint it ? I think there is a bird safe paint, some sort of matte finish paint. Mick knows more about it.

Water-based paints are fine these days, Julie. Just give the inside time to air out a little before introducing the birds. Oil-based or enamel paints are the fume producing paints and these are to be avoided. These are the ones where turps is required to wash brushes etc. Water-based are those that are wash out in water.

Now hubby wants to do the inside a different way to what I had planned I want to use half as a indoor aviary and the bit where you go in section it off , I know its not that big but hubby wants to use the whole shed and fix a wire door just inside the shed , the outside aviary is going the lenth of the shed and a door in the middle with a little porch and a second door
