I haven't been too sure about this noise since we had Belle.Shes active, eating ,drinking, exploring her cage and poops look normal. But its bothering me. I rang our normal vet and have got an appointment in an hours time.As they aren't avian vets the receptionist gave me the number of the nearest one. I rang them but their avian vet isn't there today so I will keep the local vets appointment.

Also just to add, in this video she looks hunched up and her wings look very low. Above her cere looks scruffy too. All these things just don't seem right to me.

I'm taking this video with me to the vets because she probably wont do it when shes there. So if the vet looks at it and thinks it looks ok I might not even have to get her out of the box. Shes doing so well with the taming it would be a shame to freak her out now.

Just got back. Belle is one angry budgie! The vet took one look at the vid and said that's not right so she got her out and listened to her breathing. There was a bit of a rattle so has given me baytril to put in the water.

Fortunately budgies seem to be quite a forgiving creature! Well done for getting her there. When baytril goes in the water it can be tricky to know how much the bird is getting... I would not give her any fruit or veg (not sure if she's started on this yet) so that she has to drink to get fluid. Keep her warm too. Covering 3 sides of cage and a lamp near is good. Poor little Belle!

I did wonder how much of it she will actually get into her. Shes shown no interest in fruit or veg yet so I'll leave it out till this is sorted. She hopped onto my hand a few minutes ago so I may be forgiven.
