He's back in the manor with Bezukhov. Phineas was bursting to come out so I locked C&B in & Phineas is now roaming around itching to hassle someone (I think it will be me).
Cagney's appetite hasn't returned so I am concerned about that. I continue to keep an eye on him.

Good news sweetpea. This moulting seems to knock them for six sometimes.

They would tell Phineas to get a grip if they could shout loud enough.

C'mon Cagney; you need to eat, mate. I do hope he pulls out of this funk, and soon, sweetpea. Fingers crossed he is just a little run down.

My turn to be a bit down.... Cagney is no better & still doesn't want to eat. The pink parts of his feet are almost translucent. (Hope to speak to the vet today). Bezukhov is really fed up with me as today was 'medication morning' & did he pull out all the stops to avoid it? Yes! What a struggle. How can such a tiny creature cause such mayhem? Phinny is thankfully in good physical condition; he surely wouldn't want to jiggy-jiggy if he wasn't? (He is squawking for it right now!) Of course there are question marks over his mental health.... So, out of 3, I have worries about all of them.

I'm so sorry I take it you have offered him everything to eat, herbs, veg, millet... can you syringe feed him?

I'm flummoxed about the feet, could it be lack of oxygen?
Do you have a nebulizer or a way of getting some oxygen to him?
Is he in a hospital cage?
Do you have a UV lamp?

I'm so sorry I take it you have offered him everything to eat, herbs, veg, millet... can you syringe feed him? Well he does eat, but hardly anything. The last two evenings he's had his 'bedtime' seed, probably out of habit but only has a few. Just to make a liar out of me, when I posted my last post, he actually went down for seed - first of the day, but again, only had a few, about 8 seeds. I offered him some millet earlier & he had about 3 seeds. When I offered it a few minutes later he wasn't interested. Yesterday I offered cucumber & apple, both of which he had an initial tiny nibble but then lost interest. I can't concentrate on anything as I keep watching him! He's still doing the weird wing twitching. I might see if I can weigh him today. Yesterday, at the vet's he was 43g.

I try to avoid the hospital/travel cage as it tends to stress them out further. Having said that, I am keeping an open mind about putting him in there for a bit. I may put him in there & let P out with B. Avoiding having P out the same time as C as he can be a bit boisterous & aggressive... bless his little schreeching cotton socks. No, I don't have a UV lamp.

Yes, the vet was happy with 43g. I expected him to be more as he is usually the same as B & I'm sure B is a few grams more. It's possible he was more but has lost in the day prior to the vet visit due to eating little. Like you say, it's ok as long as he doesn't lose more. Thanks for the article. I can rule out excitement, wooing & hunger. I don't think he's twitching to get rid of feathers although itchiness could be a reason. The vet did ask if he had been eating anything he shouldn't so I think she was thinking 'toxicity'. As far as I know he hasn't chewed on anything he shouldn't have. Good news - he's just had a fly around the room. It wasn't as strong as usual but he landed fine (I was looking for wobbles). I just offered him some millet & he had a few seeds.
