I have some concerns about Cagney. If it was not a Bank Holiday tomorrow, I would book him in for a vet visit, but I will have to wait (& worry) until Tuesday now. He has been quiet today but is moulting so I did not take too much notice initially. However, during the day a few things have concerned me: - He fell off the perch (it was like he had a wing feather that was about to fall out, but it didn't).
- He almost fell off the perch - he seemed to have trouble turning around.
- The pink bits on his multi-coloured feet look white.
- He seems to have lost his appetite though has had a few seeds when I have handed them to him & also went down for bedtime seed when I put his cover on.
- When he was eating the bedtime seed his wings were twitching though this does not appear to have continued.
- He's sleeping, but on two feet.
I wish there were more avian vets around & I wish those avian vets worked 24/7!

He's 'in bed' but twitching. I have rang the vets & the good news is that the vet we normally see (interest in birds) is working tomorrow (goodness knows the cost on a bank holiday!)

Oh, what a worry, but glad the vet is on board today. Please let us know how you get on. I do hope there is nothing terribly wrong, and he is just having an off day. It is so worrying when they stumble.

I'm so sorry that Cagney is not well.
Please let us know how it goes with the vet.
We're all thinking of you and Cagney here. X

The sausages and me are crossing all our fingers and claws for dear Cagney. He is so lucky to have such a caring human keeping watch over him ... XX

Fingers and wings crossed for Cagney here, sweetpea - hope it is just a moult-related off spell. Woody is a quiet wee bud just now - head full of pinnies.

Well Cagney is back home & still in the travel cage, resting. The vet checked as much as she could & all appeared well: heartbeat, temperature, weight etc. Although he was not exhibiting any of the signs from yesterday & earlier this morning (typical!), she could see he was pale from feet & inside of beak. She said an x-ray & blood test was an option but in the end we opted for a vitamin injection on the basis that it's all down to his moult (hopefully). He's starting to move around now (investigating the bottom of the travel cage, I think for ways to tunnel out) so I'll let him out but perhaps keep Phineas locked in for a little while to minimise stress. Thank you all for your support.

This is excellent news, Sweetpea! May Cagney continue to not-exhibit any worrying signs forevermore! And get a grip, Phinny - leave the poor boy alone.
