yes! thanks, I will sort it out and get him with the bulb on. Also, something I read about if they are in artificial light for a long time, which he is.. isnt it something to do with them getting their days and nights mixed or not getting the right amount of sleep, even if they do sleep in the day? i know that sounds rambling, but trying to remember what it was I saw I can't say I remember that, but I'm sure the postee/poster member who posted it will.

just found info that Barrie wrote too, and I might buy Calcivet anyway.. although hard to work out the dose... anyone use it, and know how much for say 50mls? or onto his food?
it was interesting though on what calcium deficiencies do, and it could well explain Bailey at times.. It is sunny here today, so we are going to sit outside at lunchtime for a bit.. it is not too hot, so he will hopefully absorb some Vit D

also it mentioned about there being calcium or aiding absorbtion in oyster shell grit.. I do give this to Bailey normally once a week, although been hit and miss lately, so adding it for a few days too, to help

Well, he is wobbly again, he was flying back and forth last night, making a racket, then tonight he shot out the cage when I got home. Then the wobbling started and he was agitated. Yet, when he stood on my finger or preened, he was fine. It's about 4 weeks since the last time.
All odd, but he is eating ok, poop is ok. Will see how he is tomorrow.

Hope Bailey is okay. Very strange that the symptoms come and go. Bailey is much too cute to be sick.

Thank u. He is still doing it, I just got back after being out since about 11. It is weird it goes again as anything illness wise, I would have thought would be ongoing. I put some GA into his water today. I also am going to give him egg later.

He was sitting on my finger for a good ten minutes, on one leg, chatting to me. It must be what he chooses to do at times, the leaning forward. I can't think he could just stop it happening, if sick, from oneinute to the next. He is now playing as normal.

He is doing my head in. Flying back and forth, especially if I attempt to leave the room. He has probably flown more tonight than in a week. I took this as he was doing his steadying bit. I hadn't ever got him with his wings out. Wonderful creatures

I gave him GA this morning, but not more than it advises. It's like he is on caffeine

Well Bailey was wobbling again last night when I got in late, had been in London and tubes up the spout... so now I wonder, and will make notes, of it happens more when I have been out all day and maybe he has gotten stressed, or if it is when he has had less sleep (also means probably I have gone into work, as up early). Today he is totally fine, not agitated or wobbling and playing as normal, allowing me to leave the room

I sent a video of Bailey doing it to the vet, that we go to. But they couldnt play it.. anyway, he is suggesting it could be a transient electrolyte imbalance thing.. and he put (Ca)..so assume that means calcium defficiency.
so.. i am going to order some - is Calcivet as good as any? or do any of you have a better one you found?
have changed the title of this thread as this seems to be the most likely cause of the issue, well, I hope so anyway

You also need to make sure he has vitamin D3, without it calcium can't me absorbed. It's usually not the lack of calcium but the lack of D3/sunlight that causes the problems.

ah yes, thank you!
I still havent bought the bulb holder, but will make sure i do this wknd and then sort where to put it.
I hope that is all - not said lightly - that is wrong, and it can be corrected. also odd I think, it is so random, and weeks go by without it happening

I can't remember what food Bailey eats? If he has Trill he should be getting D3 already.

yes he does have Trill, but maybe he doesn't absorb enough. Other than the wobbling, which is not all the time, nor in his cage, he is fine.. well I think he is
I doubt it will hurt to get some, and i have been adding oyster grit to his seed as that has calcium in
it is all very odd
