shame... oh well..
very sunny here today, although someone doesnt like being out.. i might just sit in the doorway with him to get some rays
he is totally fine again today with no wobbling.. maybe it is because I told him he was going to start getting things in his water, lol

You should always supervise any outside time that they have. Raptors are not fussy about how they get their dinner.

oh he is never outside without me right next to him
the place I ordered the D3 from is sending me a measuring thing so I can do the exact amount
typically it was supposed to be next day delivery for yesterday, and they sent it for today, but I am in the office...

Well I was out all day, and Bailey is back to the wobbles. I am picking up the D3 tomorrow. I do wonder if he is getting stressed when I am not here, but there's not much I can do. It's usually only 2 days and rarely are they consecutive. He is chatting and normal otherwise
I have my pipette ready to be able to add to his water
I wonder, shoukd I just add it once a week or more initially?

I would just do it once a week.

Thank you. I hope it helps as I find it hard to watch him like this. He flies more and seems unable to stay still. Yet, he stood on my finger preening for ages, perfectly balancing when doing one of his feet.

It's a pity you don't have the space for another budgie ffiscool, it would certainly be company for Bailey, and less stressful on you, knowing he is not alone when you are out.

I know. Wish I had got two at the start. Weird thing about this, is that it only started not that long ago. His symptoms do indicate a vit D3 deficiency. Which also affects behaviour it seems. He was just bashing his mirror as normal. He only is doing this at certain times out of his cage. I wouldn't have thought whatever is wrong, would come and go so much.

Well, he is still doing it, so it's longer this time. Stupid parcel force sent my package with calcivet to the post office, when I wasn't in yesterday so I will get it Monday morning. Upsets me to see him like this. I actually think it's not a separation enhanced issue, well it might be now, but that he wants me when he feels like he does. On his steadier days/times he is fine if I leave the room. I think he is scared a bit too. I hope it's the calcium/vit D as I cannot find anything else it could be when I google
He still played in his bath today and 'had a nice time' in his cage. I am hoping for a better day for his sake tomorrow

Yesterday and today, Bailey has been totally fine and normal.. Playing, chatting, not minding if I leave the room.
I picked up the Calcivet this afternoon, so will add it to his water tomorrow. he had drunk quite a lot of bath water today as I am here, so doubt he will drink from his feeder much today.
he hasnt had anything different food wise, to boost him as it were. He is busy at the moment occupying himself on the window ledge with various toys and being his nice (relief) self.
I am in the office tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if he starts behaving differently again.

Just a thought but do budgies suffer from epilepsy? I do, and before I was on medication for the condition I would do uncontrollable movements. Not fall down fits and things, just move my arms and stare into space. I don't want to worry you Ffiscool, but it was just a thought.

it is a good thought though... i dont know. he did it slightly last night after being ok all day.. would it just being movement or would he glaze over etc.. he tends to immediately fly around when like it and cant stay still.. so yes, if they can get it.. it could be.. need to look it up

Well I certainly glazed over and would look straight through people whilst looking at them. After a seizure I would just go back to normal and not realize what I had done. But I got so I knew it was going to happen. That's when I went to the doctors about it. How you would diagnose it in a budgie I have no idea.

Well some it seems, get so their head also spasms etc. I looked up a few things and I think/hope it's calcium which I can then sort. Why he is fine for weeks is another issue. I will see how he is tonight but my separation theory is gone as I was there all of yesterday.

Well I have his old syringe so filled to 0.5 ml with water and I have a 1.25ml cook measuring spoon. The 0,5 fills the 1.25 spoon! Agh
