I'd certainly try the UV lamp for Bailey ffiscool, I bought one for my 2 boys about a month ago, and as soon as they get locked in for the night the lamp is switched on, so they are getting between 11/2 to 2 hours each night of UVB light, which I'm sure can only be beneficial since it is much darker early on at night ,and winter is fast approaching.

yes, thank you. I will. I have a corner shelf on the wall above to the right of the cage, about 18 inches away, so will try to find a holder to clip on to that, or rig it somehow. I dont have room to have floor standing.

No problem. Make sure you get the right type for your bulb, screw fitting or bayonet, I think most UV bulbs are screw fitting.

I use a UV bulb for my aviary but still give the supplements once a week. I also give them to all my other birds too but they don't have bulbs as I take them outside in the summer and up their sups in winter.

It's going to be a question of how much and how to measure, I think as they quote so many mls per litre and Bailey's drinker holds 50mls.

It's going to be a question of how much and how to measure, I think as they quote so many mls per litre and Bailey's drinker holds 50mls. 50mls is one twentieth of a litre, therefore divide the amount recommended per litre by 20 and you have what you need for a 50ml container. If the amounts are small you are probably better to make up a larger volume as the accuracy will be compromised with a smaller volume.

If you make up a larger amount you will have to dispose of the excess as it does not store, a black mould develops.

That's right; but not much point in adding the stuff if it is not to the correct dilution. Them's the breaks.

thank you.. i was thinking of making up more. does it not keep in the fridge?
shame they dont say how many drops.. mind you I might have 1 ml spoons etc so will get it right or will use the old syringe - which got a bit manky and I tried cleaning but not sure.... but i can use it to test how much is 0.5mls etc

No it doesn't keep in the fridge either, I've tried it myself. Really annoying as I could make up a whole load and just use it as and when.
