Thanks skysmum. My OH was brilliant - getting up earlier before work to make sure we had time for the medicine. He didn't get a lie in at the weekend for 4 weeks either.

Kudos to your OH for stepping up and giving up his weekend late rise. Glad everybody (feathered and otherwise) are well.

Randolph Carter has been doing really well and I've not worried about him but today he isn't himself. He's very sleepy and has had a couple of naps. He's droppings have that stressed look about them - more water than usual. I've been quite worried about him but I just remembered that David was chopping up paper with his guillotine in the room next door to theirs until about 11.30 last night and that is very noisy. I'm hoping it's just that he didn't sleep well. His over night droppings were a little spread out like he'd been swinging all night so that might be it. Dean Stockwell has just had long nap too. After his nap RC was much brighter - eating seed and spinach and interacting with the other 2 so the sleep definitely helped. I'll keep him under observation today and try to disturb him as little as possible. Each time he fell asleep earlier someone knocked on the door and woke him up.
The 3 week course of antibiotics in the water finished yesterday. I asked the vet why 3 weeks instead of 6 for Dexter and DS and he said that 3 weeks is usually enough but did say we could do 6 weeks if we wanted to. Added to the 4 weeks directly, RC has been on antibiotics for 7 weeks now, although for 2 of those weeks before we started adding it to the water he spat a fair bit out. I asked the vet if it would be ok for RC to have them for the extra weeks and he said it would be as doxycyclin has quite low toxicity. So he basically left it up to me to decide.
What would you folks do? Go for the extra 3 weeks so Dean Stockwell and Dexter have had a full 6 weeks or stop now with RC at 7 weeks and them at 3 weeks? I had decided to carry on for another 3 weeks but now I'm worried about RC feeling a bit off today and wondering if he needs a break from the antibiotics.

He could probably do with a little course of probiotic's after having antibiotics for so long criswell . Avipro Avian is a good one, you just add it to the drinking water. His little tummy could do with having the flora restored.
