Thanks Mona Adding to boiling water sounds like a good idea as I'm sure it'll dissolve more easily. Wishing you a all a calm and restful night x

Mona, although i haven't contributed much to this thread about poor little Breezie i have been following it. Ive had my thoughts about this problem that he is having and after watching your last video feel i have to share them with you. I'm not in anyway certain or saying this is what it is its just my opinion.
I think Breezie's problem is internal and possibly connected to his kidneys, some kidney tumours present the problems he is having, the loss of use in one or both feet and the twitching.
Of course there is no easy way of diagnosing this without grueling tests and x-ray's.
What are his poops like, are they watery?
Try adding 3 drops of alcohol free milk thistle into 100ml of water, this is an antioxidant and anti inflammatory, it will help flush any toxins out of his liver and kidneys, it may help it may not but its worth a try.
As i say it's just a hunch but worth a try.

Poor little Breezie. It’s just horrible to think of him feeling so irritated and angry from pain and lack of sleep, but it’s good he’s eating well. I know what it’s like to have a noisy head and sometimes sleep is the only thing that will give you a break, so I hope you can nap a little in the day as well as have a longer sleep at night. What a relief you’ve sourced millet and hopefully that’ll really help when you massage Breezie.

I hope you have both had a better night. All of the above suggestions hopefully will help him and in turn ease his irritability etc..
Breezie is so lucky to have your care, trying all that you can.

The way he hasn’t been able to hold his leg up, as he would if the leg was broken further down, and the immediate regression back to how he was before with the fall makes me think there is some physical damage to the leg - possibly dislocated hip. That may explain his gradual improvement and present relapse. (That’s just me thinking aloud with my fingertips.) If you want to give him something to help ease his pain, milk thistle, cayenne pepper, ginger and turmeric are all possibly helpful, particularly turmeric as it is known to help with nerve tingles. Hezz how would you give the turmeric and would you recommend powdered forms of the cayenne pepper, ginger and turmeric? I've tried powdered cayenne pepper in Willow's water in the past but it seemed to float on the surface. I kept giving the water a stir but wasn't sure if there was a better way to administer? Cayenne pepper does settle out, and some brands of powder are better than others. It can be given as a small ball (moistened to hold it together) popped under the tongue. Milk thistle I already have and have to give every day anyway, Nature’s Answer is the one that I use. Ginger and turmeric I grow myself and always have on hand, to make a tea is relatively easy, but I would try to concentrate it down by boiling off some of the water. Crushed, rather than sliced will release more of the plant’s juice. Powdered forms may not have the same qualities as the fresh, but it would be easier to add more to a smaller amount of water.

skysmum’s suggestion is definitely worth mentioning, although it may be too far advanced at this late stage. I think your biggest worry at the moment is trying to get the poor boy some relief from the discomfort he is obviously in. If he starts chewing on that foot you are in real trouble.

I haven't been able to mark my presence on the forum lately.
Just an update about breezie. He had been puffed up and sleeping all day till now.. Even though it's hot, we had to keep him near a heat lamp and covered with blankets in a separate room without a fan.
Finally, today his poops look better and he chirped for a while. We started arnica and all herbs that help with nerve damage repair & pain..I received the millet sprays from a south indian breeder too, so I have started with massage on his foot when he is diverted with millet. I haven't seen him jerking his wings and foot since yesterday and he isn't biting his affected foot too now. It was hard to see him so aggressive and frustrated, but he had the will to recover.. He ate everything I gave to him - the greens, grasses, soft food, veggie chop, multivitamins, herbal tea and arnica. He has been eating the old seedmix whenever he doesn't feel well, so I have ordered that again, just in case.. he doesn't need heat lamp and blanket now.. fan too on low speed.. Once he feels better, we will move him back to birdie room (had to separate due to fan, heat lamp and silent place to rest)
Today, I skipped it though due to fever 🤦♀️ It's tough to take care of them when we ourselves are down.. I will have to continue everything tomorrow however.. don't want to disrupt his recovery.

He’s a very good boy for eating everything you give to him and allowing you to massage him, even if millet is involved. It’s so hard to do so much when you’re feeling poorly but hopefully your fever will pass tomorrow and you’ll feel much better. It’s so good to read that there is improvement and I hope Breezie continues to give you optimism that he’s feeling the effects of your excellent care mona.

He sounds like he's doing well mona. It's good that he's had a better day and is taking his treatments like a good boy. Hope you are feeling better soon too.

skysmum I had been waiting up to see whether his poops would get better. His poops are normally well formed, but when he went twitching his wings it was watery and apart from that, it has been always solid normal poop. Right now, it's again back to normal. It doesn't hurt to get some milk thistle though. I'm taking a look at some genuine brands in my country. Breezie is doing well and I have let him out of cage separately (not with Cookie). He sang, slept, took some laps around the room and went back inside the cage. With days passing by, it's clear that cookie and breezie can't be together. So, we are thinking about pairing up Cookie with Berry (notorious bird who can be a match for Cookie. He hasn't settled well with mom's flock and no one can just beat him and run away). We might try getting Mishty (extremely docile female budgie) with Breezie to see if they can stay well together. I might end up sending Cookie away with mom's flock or 4 budgies at my place with separate out of cage time for each pair, only if everything works out well. So anxious! All of this makes me detached from the forum or Instagram.. We have all been distressed, including Cookie. She doesn't seem good - her eyes look different.. she is irritated and frustrated. I can't have 2 sick birds to look after.. At least I need to get her a company first.

It sounds like Breezie is doing well mona but my goodness, they will be big changes for you all. You and your mum know the buds really well though so you will know what's for the best. No wonder you are anxious with all of these decisions but you should trust your instincts - you know your babies so well x
