I was having my eyes tested when 9/11 happened

Amazing that its the 20th anniversary of 9/11 next month - doesn't seem that long ago, does it?

It really doesn’t seem that long. I think it’s the most shocking thing I’ve ever seen on TV and even now when watching footage it is utterly unthinkable and shocks me still. I’d picked my son up from his nursery and one of the mums mentioned an aeroplane had flown into a building in New York. I put on the TV when we were home and didn’t move. The tea didn’t get put on, hubby got home and sat down and we were just utterly stunned how so much was unfolding with the second plane, the collapse of the buildings, the Pentagon and the plane over Philadelphia. To think the effects are ongoing with many emergency workers dying from cancer and suchlike, I think it has been the biggest tragedy in my lifetime and I hope there’s nothing that eclipses it.
Anyway…have you started any of your books, Cheryl?

I can remember 9/11 vividly. It was when i worked in a bank and I went upstairs to have lunch and it was on the TV. Shocking wasn't the word. Yes ariella ....read The wicked wit of the queen. All tales about the Queen and some gaffes about Prince Phillip. A humorous read. The other two books i bought, one is a murder mystery by that tall guy who is on TV, the clever one on pointless. The other one is a science one about why we are as we are, as individuals, from atom to DNA to personalities to life experiences.

I’ve got that book, Richard Osman but not read it yet
The DNA sounds interesting. Did you know that humans share 50% dna with a banana

I was at work (I worked for an insurance company at Embankment) when Sept 11 happened. Husband called me and told me what had happened. Totally shocked when I saw the footage.

I was living in California and there is a 3 hour difference between here and NY. I was just waking up with the radio on and it happened as I listened. I turned on the TV to see the live broadcast. About an hour later the message came from work not to come in so I had the TV tuned to the news all day. Work was closed for 3 days.

I love a place to call home. Just finished Virgin River, Chicago Med and catching up on Greys Anatomy. Miss fisher murder mysteries is good, the clothes she wears are beautiful. Harrow is a good crime drama and he is a forensic pathologies and The Brokenwood Mysteries I do like the Australian series. Hezz is lucky. I really don't watch tv much, you wouldn't know it thought Ha ha, suesbird. . I much prefer the British dramas to home-grown talent (or lack of it!!). You might like Mystery Roads if you can find it. Lots of people I know loved it last year; I thought it was a bit pathetic. . It is on Amazon Prime, apparently. There are two seasons of it.

I love the Queen and her sense of humour plus Prince Phillip was brilliant. Even well into his nineties I chuckled when he got irritated at a group photo setting and told the photographer to get on with it, perhaps more colourfully worded. I know that book by Richard Osman. I think it was a bestseller last year so hopefully it’ll be good. The science one sounds interesting. I find that kind of thing fascinating.

News from Cheryl
The operation was successful but she is having chemo as a preventative measure to make sure it doesn't return. She's going to stay away from the internet for the rest of the day and read her books to relax.
