He doesn’t have iodine….is it too late to try it? If not where quickly can I get it? I can’t smell a fishy smell on his breath. Back in April when he first started to be I’ll, his breath smelt odd and I did tell the vet. Don’t think she took much notice….

Don't go thinking it's too late to try anything, Ladybird! Think of it as leaving no stone un-turned.

Do you have a local chemist, try there ladybird. Iodine Tinctute 25ml is what you need.

With the 25ml (2.5% tincture) it's 3 drops in 100ml of water for a treatment. Just put it in his water (if he's still drinking on his own). If it is a deficiency then you should notice an improvement in a couple of days.

Just put him back in his cage and he went straight to sit by where I put his millet…he is eating it fast. He seems really hungry but can only eat millet……

Are the millet seeds smaller than standard seeds for budgies or about the same size?

Definitely smaller…… The vet should phone me soon , but really I don’t know what to ask her, except does she think he could have Trichomoniasis…….. I would think it’s worth perscribing something….but don’t think they are allowed without seeing him again……. I am feeling quite angry as well as upset that this has gone on since April and we still don’t know…….

Marianne, I have this……but if I put it on his seed/ millet, he won’t touch it………If I make it into a paste he won’t touch it either……..I did phone the birdcare for advise and they suggested making it into a thin paste and srynging into him…..so I tried giving him 0.1 ………but it gave him diarrhoea…..

Will he eat it if you mix it in with egg or mashed sweet potato?

I'm just thinking of getting lots of calories in to him to build him up.

Unfortunately he isn’t eating much of anything except red millet………I could try taking the millet spray away and just giving him millet seed mixed with it. He is such a worry to me. I really do appreciate every bit of help I am getting xxxx

I can't remember, ladybird , are you able to coat the millet in Guardian Angel? And maybe alternate with Avimix?
