I'm so sorry, what a gutting outcome for you. Tink sounds as though he was very brave. Knowledge is power so don't give up- fight as a team, and Tink will tell you when he's had enough, then you will have to be brave, but we will try and help you xx

Thankyou all again. Just a little update, Tink is deteriorating and now has a lame right leg, this is to due with the tumour pressing on the sciatic nerve I believe and common with kidney tumours but still appears to be comfortable, he is adapting well to this disability and not letting it stop him getting around although he likes to kind of lay on the back of the sofa for 5mins here & there, as if he is laying on an egg, i think this is more to do with him resting his good leg seeing as he is now more reliant on it, he is still eating and drinking very well, and still having his moments of activity before prolonged rest periods (that tumour is tiring work carrying the horrid thing around mind, poops are now less watery, I dont know if this is normal with his condition. Next injection of Laurabodin is 17th July if he is still with us. As for me, trying to stay strong and enjoy what time we have left with him, random tears wishing I could do more for him, magic wand would be useful. Xx

Ah, Helen. Stay strong. Wouldn't a magic wand/potion be just the ticket? Take care of your little guy as much as you can, keep him strong. We are with you all the way.

A magic wand would be wonderful. Tink is such a fighter. He loves life too much to let a tumor get in his way. Thoughts and prayers are with you both.

It's an awful, awful thing to go through. You're doing everything you can for him for now.

I am just now listening to a well-known coma specialist doctor on the radio. He's talking about Passive Hope and Active Hope. He tells family members that he cannot give any guarantees, but that if they try everything they can together, there is always a chance of recovery, however slim that may be.
He makes no claims to magic, but he simply tries pathways to see if the roads may lead somewhere. Many times they don't, but sometimes they do.

Very sound advice, Stace. Try everything, and sometimes something just works.

Thank you all again, for your kinds words.
Tink isn't doing too bad, tried to get into my glass of coke earlier, silly me had left it within birdy reach! His leg is still lame but he has found ways of adapting, my beautiful brave boy.
As most of you know I have been at the end of my tether trying to do anything I can for him, I have spent hours upon hours trawling the internet in search of anything that could benefit him. I have now resorted to a taboo treatment, Hydrogen Peroxide 35% FOOD GRADE, there is very little documented of this but what I did find was the infamous birdman of Alcatraz used it to cure his beloved canaries...yes I know taboo! Don't hate me for it, it is with the very best intentions! Tink is dying I have to try something. The HP is diluted down to 3% (1 part HP to 11 part DISTILLED WATER) This is used by many food companies, as a preservative on the wrapping of vacuum sealed food such as beetroot ect, just so you understand this isn't the stuff that you dye your hair with! Tink doesn't really like the taste, so im alternating daily between ACV water & the HP.
Thankyou again for all your support xxx

I would do what I thought necessary if mine were in tinks position. I hope it proves positive.

Helen, you don't need to justify your actions regarding Tink's treatment. You have absolutely nothing to lose, everything to gain, and if it is something that another person had success with, why not try? I would be doing the same and am behind you all the way. Hope you see some improvement with the treatment. Positive vibes from across the water coming your way all the time.

I know I don't have to justify Hezz but I wanted to be clear to other members that im not feeding him hair dye, and maybe others would find this subject interesting & possibly do their own research, knowledge is everything, and I have learnt so much since being a member here. We are now 7wks since Tink 1st became ill, and with the size of the tumour about 1" its miraculous he is still flying, it must be heavy for him. Tink is also still sleeping on his perches and not going to the bottom of the cage but does like to 'lay' on the top of the sofa with his mirror ball, must be comfy for him & luckily soft leather so easily cleaned!

You and Tink are doing so well Helen. Its amazing how they learn to cope with their ailments without the fuss that us humans are often prone to making when we are poorly! I do hope it stops growing and he can carry on. It certainly can happen I know. Freddies halted growing and touch wood my old staffie had a fast growing one on her side which has ceased to grow for several months so there is always hope
