And a mighty fine job he has done too. Well done Skysmum's OH. I trust he has run the main wiring from the house in armoured cable. I just had to re-run my mains from the house to the garage. I had a Home charging unit fitted for my new electric car. The sparky wouldn't sign it off until I had run the mains wire from the house in armoured cable. It will all the better when the buds have decorated it.

As in paint? I would; it would have to make it easier to clean.

Depending on the budget how about a plasticized paint. It is available for kitchens and the like, how budgie proof it is I don't know.

Thanks OP, im not sure about the kitchen and bathroom paint, i cant find anything that says it contains anything harmful but have decided to use the unopened tin of emulsion that i have already, its a lovely pale green and think it will lighten it up in there as well as being easier to clean and i know its safe . This weekends job, along with doing the mesh and treating the mesh, hope its a dry weekend.

How lovely skysmum!! Brilliant job, you must tell OH that we all approve!! Fantastic flooring, is that not a little 'posh' for budgies? Can't wait to see the finished job and all the buds inside. Just fantastic!!

Just fantastic!! Thanks shirls, nothing posh here the laminate was some that my daughter was throwing away so we grabbed it, saved us buying another thicker piece of ply for £18 and only needing a bit of it. And the ply walls were bits my son-in-law had left from insulating his garage, the electrical bits were what we had from other jobs so its all been done on the cheap , no pun intended .
