Iknow . I keep looking at pics and videos, and thinking it would be nice for them to have chicks. So fingers crossed, and hope for the best. They have been out for the morning flight. Bob is now back in the box, and Bluey is chirping in the tree. . Happy days for now, although he didnt like being shut in the cage during the night, bless him.

An early days update. Bob laid an egg on saturday 26/11/11, and another today 28th . Since Bluey has been banned from the box, both eggs are still intact, so we now know without a doubt that bluey broke the others. I know its very early days, and still things can go wrong, or they may not hatch, but Bob is doing a perfect job, its a shame for Bluey, but we have to give the eggs a chance, we have never got this far before. Fingers crossed, so far, so good.

A female budgie can store sperm in her body for several days so there is hope that the eggs are fertile. Best of luck

Just to chime in with a question for BB Do you think it will be ok to let bluey out once the chicks have hatched? Best of luck Bizzly/Bluey/Bob

Matt it depends on the cock. I don't know how will he react when allowed to see chicks because some cocks are hostile. I have a cock which is very clumsy with the eggs and have broken many, but a very good father when it comes to chicks feeding and so on.

Im glad Matt asked that question, as I have been thinking, if we are lucky enough to get chicks, and Blueys goes in the box and starts his scratching around, he could hurt the chicks, or worse

3 eggs, 1st one laid 8 days ago, 2nd 6 days, 3rd 4 days , cant help getting a little excited at the prospect we may get chicks. Bob is doing a fantastic job on her own. Bluey is still under strict supervision.
