Congratulations So Bob laid all three eggs when Bluey was away and all three were fertile and hatched. Which means she managed to keep the sperms in her body for at least a week or more and it partly proved the theory that a hen can keep the sperm in her body for two weeks, even from multiple cocks.

Yes, as you say, Bluey has been kept away rom Bob, and yet all eggs were fertile, its amazing, because I wasnt expecting all 3 to hatch, so we are very lucky and very happy. I read somewhere that a hen can keep sperm in her body for up to 2 weeks, I dont no if thats correct or not, but Bob certainly managed to do it. Im so proud of her she is doing a fantastic job looking after all 3 chicks. I will get some pics up soon.

I never knew anything about budgies, I am learning slowly, and I'm sure I have so much more to learn, but from what I no so far they are amazing, beautiful little creatures. And I'm glad I'm lucky enough to have them in my home, sentimental I know, but true.

That's great, Bizzly. Three little mini-Bobs. Can't wait to see what they feather up like.

They will be a lot more playful than adult budgies. Don't forget to handle the chicks once they are 21 days old, twice daily for 10 to 15 minutes so they are used to human contact. Make sure your hands are clean and warm enough

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, all 3 chicks are doing great, Bob is doing a fantastic job, she is a brilliant mummy, poor Bluey is being left out, I feel sorry for him, he has'nt even seen his babies, although he can hear them, he spends most of his time in the tree, bless him. Overall we are all very happy.

Thank you . Im not sure the youngest chick is doing so good, when I checked on them this morning, it was all on its own, in the corner of the nest box, and barely moving, Im just praying it will survive.
