The sponge method seems very simple and safe to use, bizzly. And getting to it early is the key to fixing the problem. Keep us updated and I really hope you can help your little chick.

Hello again hezz , sponge is on the chick, who is not very happy, bless it, I can hear the complaints now as Im typing, but if it works it will be worth it. So far so good, it wasnt as difficult as I thought it would be. Fingers crossed for the little one, and thank your for words of encouragement.

How is the chick doing? Did you see any significant difference between the two chicks? Sometimes it looks like they have splayed but it is not the case.

The chick is doing great, first two trys with the sponge, didnt work, but this time it has stayed on, he definately had splayed legs, they were sticking straight out either side of his body, so all is good with him, now I am very concerned for the older one, when I checked on them this morning I noticed one of his feet is pointing backwards, I have never noticed it before, so Im thinking it has only happened over night, as I check up on them several times a day, other than that he is doing great, but with one foot backwards how will he get on in life. Im wondering if I can do anything to help him, I feel so sorry for him, poor little thing.

Big apology, panic not as bad as I first thought, the chicks foot is in normal position, although it does look bruised, Im wondering if he got a bit squashed, or knocked his foot, he is looking good other than that, so Ill keep watch today, but I think all is ok.

I do hope all works out for your chicks, bizzly. It must be hard on you seeing them suffering even slightly.
