Good post Hezz and so true, but still shocking and know matter what we do it will continue, we can only do so much, just remember, if all of us save one life, that would be a good thing

To be quite honest, BB, I thought it could be worse. I'm not saying it is good, but just that I have seen how valuable animals - animals that are worth money to tribespeople - are treated in some parts of the world, and budgies are not a source of income to people with no cash........ pets are not even considered as life is hung so much on the balance, there is no room for something that doesn't bring some reward, doesn't have some currency value. In parts of Africa while travelling through, I saw people selling baskets - about a metre wide, one third deep - full of dead sunbirds. The same size as our local olive-backed sunbird and they are a tiny creature, about the size of a finch or canary - they make a budgie look big! This was as a food source. People reckon eating quail is like a bag of bones..... after taking off the feathers and the guts (no, they probably didn't do that) there would be very little left, as there is very little to start with! Sorry........ lost on my little rant there, but people in western society forget that the rest of the world isn't so fortunate. Nothing of that sort here, but still some very bad things. I am not brave enough to post all pictures I have taken. This one was just to give you guys an idea. The budgies in the top ight of the picture was not the only dying there.

I am sure you are right, BB. And thank you. You're welcome Hezz I can imagine what you would have seen in Africa. I have seen budgies here which I think were imported from Kenya. The budgies were the size of finches and in miserable condition.
