We've just planted the leafy one.
We also had a bag of carrots that were growing roots, so we've planted a couple of those too.

If you change the water twice a week, dengue larva won’t have time to hatch, and if they did you would be able to see the wrigglers in the water. It is recommended to check around the home once a week to keep dengue mosquitoes under control. This is often enough to break the life cycle. Changing the water is not going to impact on the carrot top growing, letting it dry out will, on the other hand. Thank you.. I will change the water twice a week. I have seen the larvae of mosquito back at one time and I haven't kept still water since then.. Money plant went into the soil too..

I joined too, been meaning to take a photo but it just hasn’t happened yet. Only one has really grown well but another I added a few days ago just started to shoot. All have new roots though. It’s fun to watch them change and grow!
I have a few carrots I. The garden I let overwinter to hopefully produce seeds late spring/early summer - but you can’t see what they’re doing at all below ground lol

I was going to throw away mine, since I thought it's going to rot.. but saw a few roots there..so planted in soil instead.. Not sure if it will be a successful attempt. I did soak another 4 in water though..

Good luck - hope you see green soon! One of mine is getting more bushy but still small. The other two are growing tall and lanky. I'm going to clip one and see if my guys will eat it.

Sigh! I put a carrot top stem in their cage and they both ignored it! How dare they after all I went through to grow it.

Mine have never had carrot tops either because the carrots I buy at Costco don’t have them. I wonder if they’ll try them the first time either tweetiepiesmom

With my guys, if I give them something with a stem they'll ignore it the first few times I put it in their cage and then they'll start chewing the stems. After that they'll chew the leaves. Then they'll decide they like it and start eating it with gusto. I recently decided to try spinach on them. I clipped spinach leaves in their cage and also tried making strips of it (so it would look like grass) and they ignored it. Then I put baby spinach leaves in with a bit of the stems. I was so surprised when Tweetie Pie was the first to chew on the stems. Now both eat the leaves and stems. They don't get it often. With broccoli, they never liked it hanging in their cage. I guess the "stem" was too big. I started chopping the florets up and putting it with their feed. After doing this every day for 3 weeks, today they took their first nibble. I don't yet have enough carrot tops to put it in their cage everyday. Once I get my new garden area done, I'll plant the carrot tops outside and hopefully will get a good crop going.

As for my carrot tops, one started growing a tiny stub of green, but soon rotted a few days later.

The same happened with mine @birdlover123
I have just one left right now with some growth and potted in soil.. I don't know if temperature has something to do with it.
Probably, I won't try it further if this one doesn't grow.. 🤦♀️

I'm not sure if it's temperature but is it the same temp as here mona? the temp here is about 32-36 celsius.

mona @birdlover123 - carrots do prefer cooler growing temperatures, to the heat could definitely be the cause. It might be worth trying again when you have cooler weather though!

Morgan That's what I thought too. Carrots are harvested during winters over here.. so probably, I'll try it around that time.. @birdlover123 the temp here is 40 to 45 degrees.. The wheatgrass millet grass and other seeds have grown well for me..
